Today, June 23, marks the 8-year anniversary of the incorporation of Vivonics, Inc. by founder Gordon B. Hirschman. Actual company operations commenced on Sept 25, 2015, the first day of operations after Vivonics completed the purchase of assets (and hiring of personnel) from Infoscitex Corporation, where Mr. Hirschman was formerly the Executive Vice President of the Biomedical Division. Reflecting on the occasion, Mr. Hirschman said: “Infoscitex had recently been sold to DCS Corporation in Alexandria VA and the Biomedical Division was not a high priority for them. I was happy to have the opportunity to establish Vivonics and acquire all the Biomedical assets in order to realize the potential of the team and all the work we had done together over the years.” That opportunity has resulted in significant advances of new technology to commercial opportunities, including the sale of artificial lung technology to Lung Biotechnology, licensing (along with our partners at Mayo Clinic) of vestibular stimulation technology to vMocion and ongoing advancement of our prosthetic socket and liner technologies in collaboration with Liberating Technologies, Inc. and their parent company College Park Industries. Vivonics continues to develop novel medical device and human performance technologies and advance them to commercialization, with particular focus on use outside the traditional hospital environment.
