A message from Gordon Hirschman, CEO and founder
Ten years ago today, June 23, 2012, papers were filed to incorporate Vivonics, Inc. At the time there were no employees, no business, just a plan to acquire the assets of the Biomedical Division that I ran at Infoscitex Corporation and venture out on our own. It took another three months to finalize that agreement with the new owners of Infoscitex and begin operations on September 25, 2012. Eleven other brave souls agreed to come along for the journey with a singular vision to create innovative technology to improve human health and performance. Ten years on we have accomplished a lot: creating and advancing technologies for artificial organs, aptamer discovery, advanced prosthetic sockets/liners, non-invasive physiological monitoring, transdermal neurological stimulation, digital health and more. Some of this has been licensed to others for commercialization while we continue to pursue new advances and narrow our focus to emphasize solutions leveraging physiological monitoring, stimulation, and minimally invasive therapies for traumatic brain injury (TBI), related physical trauma, and neurological health. Today, we are working hard to bring our IPASS device for non-invasive assessment of intracranial pressure, a key parameter in TBI, forward as a product.
We have been awarded over 30 patents for our innovations, with more in the works. I am extraordinarily proud of the company that we have built and all the Vivonics team has accomplished over the last decade. Many former team members have moved on to new challenges, helped by their experiences at Vivonics, while new employees have joined to carry on the quest and bring their own unique talents to the team. I offer my heartfelt thanks to the many Vivonics team members who have helped over the years to make this company what it is today, and I look forward to further developing and working with the team to continue the journey into the next ten years!
