Vivonics is excited to announce we have received a $50,000 award from the Medical Technology Enterprise Consortium (MTEC) for commercialization of our IPASS (Intracranial Pressure Assessment and Screening System) system. In partnership with Alira Health, this funding will be used to design our de novo clinical study to evaluate the IPASS prior to FDA submission, a key step in advancing the technology towards a commercial product that can serve military and civilian medical needs.
The IPASS technology uses non-invasive near-infrared measurements for fast and easy assessment of intracranial pressure, a key parameter in acute traumatic brain injury and ongoing monitoring of patients with cranial trauma, as well as other conditions that experience unmonitored intracranial pressure rises, like stroke, idiopathic intracranial hypertension, brain tumor, and concussions. Rapid and continuous non-invasive ICP readings from IPASS provide vital, objective, actionable information to manage the patient’s condition, helping to avoid secondary brain damage, reduce mortality, and improve long-term outcomes.
Thanks to all our team for helping to make this happen! For more on IPASS see here.
